Lucknow, 15 November: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday transferred the first online installment to the beneficiaries of 34,500 houses to be constructed under the CM Awas Yojana (Rural) at the Indira Gandhi Foundation on the occasion of Tribal Pride Day.
Congratulating the beneficiaries, Yogi transferred ?143 crore as the first installment to the beneficiaries of 34,500 houses to be built at a cost of ?426.94 crore, while distributing keys to the beneficiaries of 39,000 houses constructed at a cost of ?478.49 crore.
Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, Minister of State for Rural Development and Overall Rural Development and Rural Engineering Vijay Laxmi Gautam were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Yogi said, ?Even after 75 years of independence, it was very surprising to see that the people of Musahar caste were deprived of the facilities. In the year 2017, when the BJP government came to power in UP, these people were given land leases and housing facilities were made available to them. There were 54 such castes in the state, which did not get the benefit of any facility after independence. Last year, panchayat elections were held, in which they elected their village head for the first time, otherwise they were given the right by the constitution of the country.?
?Earlier, Musahar, Tharu, Vantangia, Kol, Shaharia etc. castes in Bundelkhand were deprived of all the schemes of the government in Uttar Pradesh. I am happy that all those castes deprived of the Prime Minister’s house are being benefitted by the Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme,? he said.
He said that so far more than 1.08 lakh families have been given the benefits of the schemes. Along with this, work has been done to connect ‘Divyang’ and leprosy patients with these schemes. In fact, when these people get the benefits of the schemes, then the scheme is successful.
Yogi said that more than ?905 crore has been made available to the beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. The Prime Minister had implemented the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the year 2016. At that time there was no Bharatiya Janata Party government in the state. The previous state government had not even sent proposals to implement it in their own state
Taking a dig at Samajwadi Party, Chief Minister said, ?We can understand these people by their actions, who work to divide the society in the name of caste.?
Yogi said that during five and a half years, UP has provided 27 lakh houses in rural areas and 17 lakh beneficiaries have been provided houses in urban areas under PM Awas Yojana. Uttar Pradesh is the first state which has compulsorily provided land patta to every beneficiary of PM Awas Yojana or CM Awas Yojana who did not have a piece of land.
