Ayodhya, 22 October: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched ‘Mission Mahila Sarathi’ at Ramkatha Park on Sunday under the Mission Shakti campaign and flagged off 51 ordinary buses (BS 6).

UP’s bus stands will be built like airports

Speaking on this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi said that UP Transport Corporation is considered to be responsible for transportation within the state. The country becomes independent on 15 August 1947, but the first bus of the corporation had already run in May 1947. Since then the Transport Corporation has covered long distances.

Remembering his childhood days, CM Yogi said, in my childhood, the only means of transportation was UP Transport Corporation. Be it village or city, people used to travel by buses. Most of the people spent their childhood traveling in transport corporation buses. It continued to connect us. Now the Transport Corporation is growing with new progress and work. Now bus stations will also be built like airports. Work on this has started.

This couldn’t be a better time

Yogi said that today is Ashtami Tithi of Shardiya Navratri. Today we are performing the rituals of Maa Gauri in the eighth form. It was believed that women could not do this work but there could not be a more appropriate occasion when the date of Maha Ashtami is being linked with Mission Shakti along with the launch of Mission Mahila Sarathi and those women drivers and conductors are being associated with it. Today 51 buses will run to different places in the state, in which the drivers and conductors will be women.

Transport Corporation had accepted the challenge in Corona

Yogi Adityanath said that technology can bring many changes in life. We saw this efficiency of the corporation in Prayagraj Kumbh, when the work of transportation of 24 crore devotees was done.

Admiring UPSRTC in his speech, Yogi said when the global pandemic Corona struck, 40 lakh people from UP and other states were displaced and had to leave for their homes on foot. Then UP Transport Corporation came to accept this challenge. The drivers and conductors of the corporation stood at the border with 11-12 thousand buses. All the citizens of UP were transported to their homes and people from other states were transported to the border of UP.

Now daughters have also become fighter pilots

The Chief Minister said that the safety, respect and self-reliance of women has always been a matter of challenge. That is why Indian society has always promoted the belief that where women are respected, their dignity will be protected. It will be self-reliant, the society will be strong and self-reliant and will be seen touching the heights of all-round development.

Adding further, the chief minister Yogi Adityanath stated that this work is an issue related to women’s dignity, safety, respect and self-reliance, which, with the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Uttar Pradesh government is continuously taking forward in the fourth phase of Mission Shakti, starting from the first date of Shardiya Navratri.

He said till now, more than one and a half lakh daughters and sisters have served in various jobs of UP State Police and Government. The dream of having women drivers and conductors in the transport corporation has also come true. Now daughters have also become fighter pilots.

Government will give 20 lakh incentive to those buying electric buses

The Transport Corporation and the contract will also have a large fleet of electric buses. There will be no pollution, no noise and the speed will also be better than normal buses. We have given Rs 400 crore from the government.

Yogi said that many buses are yet to be purchased with a view to Mahakumbh in 2025. Good electric buses will come. UP government has made EV policy for good connectivity. Diesel, petrol and CNG are not used in electric buses. Will be charged with electricity. 300 km at a time. The government will give an incentive of Rs 20 lakh per bus to the person purchasing such buses.
