CM Yogi instructs officers to prevent corruption in tender process

Lucknow, April 25: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting of the Jal Shakti Department on Monday regarding flood control.

During this, he gave strict instructions to prevent corruption in the tender process. Yogi said that the officers should exercise complete transparency while selecting the agencies for tender in the projects. In any department, work should not be done by the agencies of mafia or people associated with it. If this is found to be happening then accountability will be fixed at every level in the department.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that well-planned efforts have been made in the last five years for a permanent solution to the problem of floods, which have been a factor for extensive loss of life and property in Uttar Pradesh for decades. Since 2017-18, 699 flood projects have been completed. As per the advice of experts, we have been successful in minimizing the risk of floods by using the latest technology.

Presently, out of 225 projects related to flood control, work has started on 216. It has nine dredging projects. The Chief Minister directed that full care should be taken of quality and timeliness in all the projects.

Complete transparency should be maintained in the auction of silt, which is derived from dredging of rivers. In any case, this sand should be removed from there by June 15. Physical verification of sand auction work should also be done.

Chief Minister Yogi said that every work related to flood control should be completed by June 15 in every case. In the flood rescue work, officers of every level of the department should get into the field. Go to the spot Drone video, photos of workplaces should be made available within a week.

He said that the work of repair of embankments should be given top priority. Reserve stock should be arranged at the most sensitive and sensitive places at the earliest. The repair work should be completed by 31st May in any case by identifying the most sensitive, sensitive places coming under the grip of the rivers current.

There is a need to accelerate the work of channelization of rivers. This work has not yet gained momentum. Special attention is required. The Chief Minister said that the steering group under the chairmanship of the District Magistrates should be completed in the current month to deal with the floods. For flood protection, flood protection committees should be formed in the areas by the district administration and the department by June 15. Divisional and district level nodal officers for inter-departmental flood coordination, nodal officers for international and inter-state flood problems should be nominated.
