Lucknow, July 20: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday launched the ‘One tree in the name of mother’ campaign by planting trees in Saumitra Van (Forest) on the banks of river Kukrail in Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in his address that this campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi should become a mantra for every Indian. Every family of Uttar Pradesh is getting this honour. 36.50 crore saplings will be planted within a day. Plant trees, save the environment. If trees are saved, the environment will be saved. If the environment is saved, we will be saved from the danger of global warming. This time the months of May and June will be remembered by the people for many years. Due to global warming, the temperature had reached 48 degrees this time. Tree plantation campaign is being run to protect from all this.

The Chief Minister said that 75 to 80 percent of the trees planted in the past years are still alive. Today global institutions are giving recognition.

Yogi Adityanath said that after 1984, land mafias started filling up the Kukrail river and this river became a drain. This drain also polluted the Gomti river. Today Saumitra forest was established here on 15 acres. By removing encroachment on the banks of Kukrail river. Action was also taken against those who had registered here. LDA also provided housing to 2100 people.
