CM Yogi lashes out at consolidation officers, suspends many

Lucknow, 05 October: The effect of the Chief Minister’s strong displeasure over delay, negligence and irregularities in disposal of consolidation related cases is beginning to be seen.

After the tough stance of Chief Minister Yogi, action was taken on a large scale in the Consolidation Department, from the Consolidation Officer to the accountants of half a dozen districts.

Following the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi, the Consolidation Commissioner on Thursday suspended 06 people including the Consolidation Officer for negligence in the lease land dispute in the triple murder case in Kaushambi.

Whereas strict action has been taken against a total of a dozen people. These include actions ranging from suspension to FIR and even dismissal from job. In the last one month, action has been taken by the Consolidation Commissioner against more than a dozen people.

It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had given instructions to take strict action against negligent and corrupt officials in the revenue review meeting at the Annexe on September 16, after which their list was prepared at the departmental level.

As soon as the green signal was received from Yogi, immediate action was started. If experts are to be believed, strict action may be taken against more officials.

Consolidation officer dismissed from job

Consolidation Commissioner GS Naveen Kumar said that under the Chief Minister’s zero tolerance policy, action is being taken against corrupt officers and employees. He said that in the triple murder case in Kaushambi, Consolidation Officer Mithilesh Kumar, Assistant Consolidation Officer Afzal Ahmed Khan, three Consolidation Accountants Shivesh Singh, Shilwant Singh, Ravi Kiran Singh and Consolidation Officer Ram Asre have been suspended for negligence in the lease land dispute.

He told that the service of Consolidation Officer Devraj Singh has been terminated due to irregularities and indiscipline. Etah’s Assistant Consolidation Officer Satish Kumar has been promoted and appointed on basic salary.

Similarly, departmental action has been initiated by suspending Shamli, Hardoi’s Assistant Consolidation Officers Anangpal Singh and Gajraj for violation of rules and negligence in preparing the consolidation plan.

At the same time, on the recommendation of the investigation directorate team formed on the complaint of irregularities in consolidation, instructions have been given to suspend the Consolidator and Consolidation Accountant of Mau. Departmental action has been initiated against Basti and Hardoi Consolidation Officer Sharadchandra Yadav and Prem Prakash Bharti. Along with this, a letter has been written to the government for action against retired settlement officer Chakbandi of Gorakhpur.

Strict action was taken against them also

Consolidation Commissioner said that some time ago a complaint was received about negligence in consolidation in village Shivra of Pratapgarh. A committee was formed at the directorate level to investigate this. On the basis of the committee’s report, disciplinary action has been initiated against Consolidation Officer Omkar Sharan Singh. Along with this, a show cause notice has been issued to Jaunpur Deputy Director Consolidation Officer Somnath Mishra. Whereas permission has been sought from the government to take disciplinary action against former settlement officer Chakbandi Sheetalendra Singh.

He said, apart from this, in the last one month, with the aim of curbing indiscipline, the Consolidation Commissioner has taken departmental action against seven Consolidation officers Sunil Aggarwal, Dhirendrajit Singh, Achhe Lal, Kalyan Pratap Singh, Ramesh Babu, Lalit Kumar and Ramkishore Singh, in which Sunil Aggarwal and Ramkishore Singh have been suspended after being found guilty of irregularities.

An FIR has been lodged suspending Dhirendrajit Singh. Not only this, departmental action has been initiated against Sunil Kumar, Assistant Consolidation Officer, Bareilly and Ashok Kumar Lal, Assistant Consolidation Officer, Kaushambi.
