CM Yogi makes Field Hockey player Raj Kumar Pal ‘Deputy SP’ in felicitation prog in Ghazipur

Ghazipur, August 17: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Ghazipur’s Meghbaran Singh Stadium on Saturday where he participated in the felicitation ceremony of Rajkumar Pal of Ghazipur and Lalit Upadhyay of Banaras, who won medals in Olympic hockey.

Chief Minister Yogi met Olympic players Lalit Kumar Upadhyay and Rajkumar Pal on the stage. Along with this, he nominated Rajkumar Pal to the post of Deputy SP on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh government. Whereas Lalit Upadhyay has already been nominated to this post by the Uttar Pradesh government.

During the felicitation ceremony organized at Meghbarn Singh Stadium in Ghazipur, Yogi Adityanath honored Olympic players Rajkumar Pal and Lalit Upadhyay. The CM also honored Lalit Upadhyay’s parents.

Along with this, Rajkumar’s mother, both brothers were given mementoes and certificates.

The Chief Minister also honored other players and coaches of Meghbarn Stadium.During his address, he said that when a player gives his life for his game, then the head of the country rises high with pride. In such a situation, the country also needs to do a lot to honor the players. Today, the Uttar Pradesh government is doing a lot of policy work for sports and players. We have showered jobs for the players. In the last few years, more than 500 players who won medals in all important competitions have been directly given jobs on important posts including Deputy SP. So that their family can live their life with respect.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the Meghbaran Singh Stadium family in Saidpur, Ghazipur is working towards nation building. Rs 5 crore is being provided for the reconstruction of this stadium. We have provided this scheme under the sports policy that now along with government stadiums, individual private sports institutions will also be promoted.

He said that the parents’ hard work leads to the progress of the child. On one hand, Lalit Upadhyay’s parents were constantly working for their son. On the other hand, Rajkumar Pal lost his father in his childhood. Despite that, Rajkumar Pal’s mother worked hard till today to educate her son and brought him here. In such a situation, the hard work of the stadium’s founder patron Tej Bahadur Singh paid off. When both the players who came out of his stadium worked to increase the pride of India. Certainly, in the coming times, the players here are making their important contribution in restoring the pride of hockey and will continue to do so in the future.

Chief Minister Yogi said that the government dedicated to sports and players will provide Rs 1 crore each to these two players and Rs 10 lakh each will be provided to all the talented players in the Olympics from Uttar Pradesh.

He said that Prime Minister Modi has been continuously saying that if India plays, India will progress. It is the result of such stadiums and the hard work of such players that today again players like Major Dhyanchand Babu KD Singh will come forward in Uttar Pradesh and India.Minister of State for Sports Girish Chandra Yadav said that a sports policy was made in 2023 to promote sports in Uttar Pradesh. The needs of the players were kept in mind.

Yogi said that today the definition of ‘if you play, you will be bad’ has changed.It is worth noting that Rajkumar Pal and Lalit Upadhyay are players of the hockey team that won bronze medal in Paris Olympics. Both of them started their sports life from Meghbaran Singh Hockey Stadium in Ghazipur. Recently, former MP Radhe Mohan Singh had met the Chief Minister to organize a felicitation ceremony to honor both the players of the stadium.

After this, the Chief Minister had promised him to come to Karampur. In this sequence, a felicitation ceremony of both the players was organized at Karampur Hockey Stadium today.

On this occasion, Minister of State Girish Chandra Yadav, former MP Radhe Mohan Singh, former Union Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey, Rajya Sabha MP Sangeeta Balwant, MLC Vishal Singh Chanchal, Ravindra Jaiswal, Olympic players Lalit Kumar Upadhyay and Rajkumar Pal and others were present.
