Lucknow, March 06: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met about 50 students who returned from war-torn Ukraine at the Chief Minister’s residence.
Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma and the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) State President Swatantradev Singh were also present along with the Chief Minister.
The Uttar Pradesh government had issued a helpline number to help students stranded in Ukraine. So far 550 students have reached home amid the war.
The Chief Minister asked the students of the state who had returned from Ukraine about their experience.
The Chief Minister said that it is the priority of the government to take every Indian out of there safely to their homes. The state government along with the Centre is actively engaged in the rescue work.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had made State Relief Commissioner Ranvir Prasad as the nodal officer to bring the people trapped in Ukraine safely. A 15 lines helpline was also started at 1070 number by setting up a control room in the Relief Commissioner’s office. Apart from this, a mobile number 9454441081 was also issued.
Meanwhile, the Indian Army and Indian Air Force (IAF) are also expediting the process of bringing back the Indians trapped in Ukraine safely back to their homes. The state government got the details of 1279 students out of all 75 districts of UP. All these students were trapped in Ukraine. So far 550 students from Uttar Pradesh have returned.
