Gorakhpur, March 25: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is on a visit to Gorakhpur since Sunday in order to participate in the special events on festival of colours Holi.
On Sunday evening, he participated in the ‘Holika Dahan’ procession originating from Pandeyhata and on Tuesday, he will inaugurate the colorful procession of Lord Narasimha originating from Ghantaghar.Â
In this time of festive atmosphere, on Monday morning, he performed ‘Rudrabhishek’ in Gorakhnath temple and prayed for the welfare of the people of the state, country and the world.
In the Shakti temple located on the first floor of the Gorakhnath temple residence, CM Yogi offered Vilva leaves, lotus flowers etc. to Devadhidev Mahadev and then performed ‘Rudrabhishek’ with milk and sugarcane juice.Â
The learned priests of the Math completed the ritual of ‘Rudrabhishek’ by chanting the Mahamantras of Rudrashtadhyayi of Shukla Yajurveda Samhita.Â
After Rudrabhishek, Yogi performed ‘havan’ and ‘aarti’ amidst chanting of Vedic mantras. After the rituals were completed, he wished the people of the state a healthy, happy, prosperous and peaceful life. On the occasion of Rudrabhishek ritual, Chief Priest of Gorakhnath Temple Yogi Kamal Nath, Mahamandaleshwar Santosh Das alias Satua Baba, Dr Arvind Chaturvedi, Ashwani Tripathi etc. from Kashi were also present.
Chief Minister Yogi fed cow in the ‘gaushala’ of the temple.
 Yogi also inquired about the condition of the cows and fed them jaggery. After visiting the ‘gaushala’, Chief Minister Yogi called the cows by names like Shyama, Gauri, Ganga, Bhola etc. As soon as they heard the familiar voice of CM Yogi, the cows came running towards him. CM Yogi caressed the cows on their forehead, caressed them a lot and fed them jaggery.Â
The Chief Minister took information about the health and nutrition of all the cows from the workers of the cow shed and gave necessary instructions for their care.
