CM Yogi plants red sandalwood plant at official residence in Lucknow

Lucknow, July 04: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath planted a red sandalwood tree at his official residence at Kalidas Marg on Thursday under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. The CM also appealed to all the people to plant trees under this campaign.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that to save the countrymen from challenges like global warming, the PM has made an innovative call to plant ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ across the country. In the same series, I have planted a tree at the Chief Minister’s residence today. I express my heartfelt gratitude to the PM on behalf of the people of the state for this campaign and congratulate him.

CM’s appeal, plant a tree in the name of mother on July 20

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appealed that every person according to the population of the state should become a part of ‘Vriksharopan Mahabhiyan’ and plant a tree in the name of his mother on July 20. For this, we have also prepared 54 crore plants in the nurseries of the state. These include all types of plants useful for the environment (peepal, pakkad, neem, desi mango, jamun, guava, sheesham, teak) etc.

Providing drumstick plants to the beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana

CM Yogi said that we are providing drumstick plants free of cost at the homes of the beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana. Drumstick is very useful for everyone. Malnutrition can be overcome by using its pod vegetable or soup. We had planted a drumstick tree at the home of every beneficiary of PM Awas Yojana two years ago also. These have grown quite big now. This time again we will take this campaign forward. We have about 55 lakh drumstick plants.

Will run a comprehensive plantation campaign in the entire state

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that plants of different varieties will be planted in the entire state. Under this, a comprehensive campaign will be run and plantation will be done in gram panchayats, municipal bodies, parks, roadsides, vacant places. CM said that the people of the state will come forward to face the environmental challenge by becoming a part of the tree plantation campaign along with the forest festival, with this belief ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ program has been organized in Lucknow.

Will plant 30-35 crore saplings under the campaign

CM Yogi said that 30-35 crore saplings will be planted in this campaign. This program has started now. Everyone will participate in the grand festival of tree plantation campaign by planting record saplings on 20th July. Programs will also be run from time to time to take care of these plants. CM urged that the person who plants a tree should also protect it.

During this, Forest Minister Dr Arun Kumar Saxena, Additional Chief Secretary (Forest) Manoj Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary (Chief Minister) Sanjay Prasad, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Department Sudhir Kumar Sharma, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Sanjay Srivastava etc. were present.
