Lucknow, June 16: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to maintain effective arrangements for prevention and treatment of Covid-19 in the state.
He said that in view of the rapid rise in the number of new cases of Covid infection in various states, vigilance and caution should be taken.
Chief Minister Yogi was reviewing the situation of Covid-19 in the state in a meeting of Team-9 at his official residence here on Thursday.
He said that the work of giving booster dose of Covid vaccine to people above 18 years of age should be expedited. It should be ensured that eligible people take the second dose of vaccine on time.
In the last 24 hours, 413 new cases of corona infection have been reported in the state. During this period 209 persons have been discharged after successful treatment. At present, the number of active cases of corona in the state is 1849. In the last 24 hours, more than one lakh four thousand corona tests were conducted in the state. So far, 11 crore 59 lakh 27 thousand 837 Covid tests have been done in the state.
Yogi said, till last day, more than 33 crore 45 lakh 50 thousand doses of corona vaccine have been administered in the state. More than 13 crore 99 lakh 99 thousand people in the age group above 18 years have been provided with Covid protection by giving both doses of the vaccine.
βIn this way 94.96 percent people have taken both the doses of Covid vaccine. In the same age group, more than 15 crore 33 lakh 50 thousand people have taken the first dose of Covid vaccine,β he added.
He said that the Uttar Pradesh is at the top position in the country in COVID testing and vaccination. Till the last day, 98.79 percent of adolescents in the age group of 15 to 17 years have received the first dose of Covid vaccine and 82.92 percent of adolescents have received the second dose of the vaccine.
CM Yogi further added, 92.80 percent of children aged 12 to 14 years have received the first dose of vaccine and 53.44 percent of children have received the second dose. More than 33 lakh 57 thousand prescription doses have been provided.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government is making serious efforts to fulfil the goal of ‘One District One Medical College’. PPP policy has been announced for the establishment of medical colleges in unserved districts.
He directed to speed up the process of setting up medical colleges in the state on PPP mode.
