- Timeless Ayodhya program inaugurated by offering water to Ashoka tree
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that in 2016-17, only 2.34 lakh devotees used to come to Ayodhya throughout the year, but today more than 16 crore people are coming here to see Lord Shri Ram. This is a symbol of the increasing glory and grandeur of Ayodhya.
He said that Ayodhya is the base of Sanatan Dharma. Yogi was speaking at the inauguration of Timeless Ayodhya Literature Festival in Ramnagari on Friday. The Chief Minister first inaugurated the program by offering water to the Ashoka tree amid Vedic chanting.
Chief Minister Yogi praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he has worked to revive the traditions of India by combining heritage and development, which has made a big beginning. He said that Ayodhya is the base of Sanatan Dharma. It is not just a city but an inspiration for religion and literature. Referring to the composition of Ramayana and Ramcharitmanas by Maharishi Valmiki and Saint Tulsidas, he said that Ayodhya has always been the center of literature and culture.
Earlier in this literary festival organized in Ayodhya, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was first welcomed in a traditional manner in Rajsadan amidst chanting of Vedic mantras.
Yogi said that Lord Manu laid the foundation of human religion from here and this land became the karmabhoomi of Lord Shri Ram, the incarnation of Shri Hari Vishnu. Ramayana became the first epic of the world, which gave a new direction to literature. Just as Maharishi Valmiki immortalized the Ram Katha all over the world, similarly even today every creation related to Ayodhya touches the hearts of the people. Ramayana and Ramcharitmanas are still read and appreciated in every corner of the world and in every home of the country.
Discussing the Ram Mandir movement, he said that Ayodhya should get the respect it has been entitled to for centuries. He told that when the plan to celebrate Deepotsav in Ayodhya was made in 2017, some people raised questions about it, but today millions of devotees participate in Deepotsav.
The Chief Minister said that literature is a mirror of society. It not only preserves culture but also provides the right direction to the society. In today’s digital age, the tradition of reading and writing is being disrupted. But events like literature festival will prove helpful in reviving it.
Congratulating the entire team of the Timeless Ayodhya Literature Festival, the Chief Minister said that such programs will act as inspiration for the coming generations and will take Indian literature to new heights. This festival proved that Ayodhya is not only a religious place but also a holy land of literature and culture.
There is a sense of respect for India in the world-
Yogi said that I once got an opportunity to go to Europe. Took a taxi there. Asked the taxi driver where he was from, he told me that he was from Punjab. Then I asked where in Punjab. He said with a little hesitation that I am from Punjab in Pakistan. I asked him why he said Indian first, he said that we are safe if we say Indian. If we say Pakistan, we don’t know what will happen. This is the situation in the world today. There is a feeling of respect for India, but the world also hates those who gave the world the feeling of terrorism. Today people feel proud to call themselves citizens of India and especially Uttar Pradesh.
On this occasion, Ayodhya Literature Fest convenor Yatindra Mishra, Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Rakesh Sachan, Mayor Girish Pati Tripathi, MLA Ved Prakash Gupta, Ramchandra Yadav, Abhay Singh, Chandrabhanu Paswan etc. were present.
