CM Yogi to inaugurate tree plantation drive under Kukrail river beautification project over ‘demolished’ Akbarnagar in Lucknow

Lucknow, July 18: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch Tree Plantation Campaign 2024 from ‘recently-cleared’ Akbarnagar area illegally encroached over Kukrail riverbelt of ​​​​Lucknow on July 20.

Apart from this, other ministers of the state government will participate in the tree plantation program organized in different districts.

On July 20, 36.50 crore saplings will be planted across the state.

This information was given by the State Forest, Environment and Climate Change Minister Arun Saxena.

He was addressing a press conference at the Parijat Auditorium in Aranya Bhawan on Thursday.

Saxena said that there is nothing greater than mother in the world. Everyone should participate in the call made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ and everyone must plant a tree in the name of mother.

The Forest Minister said that the state government is committed to increase the green cover by planting trees through a massive public movement to maintain environmental and ecological balance in the state and to control the increasing pollution. Keeping this in mind, the state government has set a target of planting 36.50 crore saplings on forest land, community land and other government land, agriculture and other private land with the cooperation of 26 government departments and the general public.

Saxena said that the general public will get free saplings from the nurseries of the forest department for plantation. Neem, drumstick, amla, tamarind, arjun, jamun, bael, desi mango, mahua, teak, sheesham, bamboo, peepal, banyan and pakkad saplings are available in the nurseries of the forest department. Many non-government organizations including Lok Bharati, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Yuvak Mangal Dal, Mahila Mangal Dal, Vyapar Mandal, Kisan Utpadak Sangathan are cooperating in the Plant Trees Save Trees public campaign.
