Varanasi, 01 September: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inspected Dr Sampurnanand Sanskrit University on Sunday.
Chief Minister also closely observed the development work being done in the campus and other activities. Vice Chancellor Prof Bihari Lal Sharma told the Chief Minister in detail about the teaching and learning activities of the university.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister also visited the library and hostels along with various faculties of the university. The Chief Minister observed the ancient manuscripts stored in the library.
The students also looked happy to see the Chief Minister in the university campus, who came to the city on a one-day visit.
Chief Minister was told that a 3-D museum will be built on the gradual development of Vedic literature in the historic main building of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, the most ancient center of Indian knowledge tradition. In which 16 sanskars, 64 arts, 18 vidya sthan will be given a detailed form.
During this, the proposal to convert Government Ayurvedic College, Chowkghat into a faculty of this institution again was accepted.
On the proposal of the Vice Chancellor, the Chief Minister inspected the inside of the 234-year-old main building situated in the campus and directed to make a museum on Indian Astrology, Indian Astronomy, the works done by Indian Rishis and also to organize debates in this building.
The Chief Minister was overwhelmed after seeing the rare manuscripts preserved in the historic Saraswati Bhawan of the University, including “Raas Panchadhyayi”, Bhagwat Geeta and Durgasaptashati (written in a special cloth) which are adorned with gold letters and gold art. He also praised the University for continuing the campaign to preserve the heritage of Indian culture. The
Chief Minister also observed the work of conservation of manuscripts by the National Manuscript Mission with the support of the Government of India in the Extension Building. While inspecting the hostels, he visited the Research Hostel and Ganganath Jha Hostel respectively, physically inspected the Ganganath Jha Hostel minutely.
While giving instructions to make a bicycle stand and a car stand there, he directed to get other necessary works done including cleanliness, replacing worn out wires.
The Vice Chancellor also informed the Chief Minister about making the signboards of all the departments in the campus in Sanskrit language and also about the sewer, drainage and dilapidated roads being arranged. Before this, on the arrival of the Chief Minister, the Vedic students of the university chanted mantras and recited Swasti.
Vice Chancellor Prof Bihari Lal Sharma, Registrar Rakesh Kumar felicitated the Chief Minister by presenting him a flower bouquet and a shawl in front of the main building of the campus.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Stamp and Court Registration Fee Ravindra Jaiswal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH and Food Security Dayashankar Mishra ‘Dayalu’, former Minister and MLA Dr Neelkanth Tiwari, MLA Saurabh Srivastava, District Magistrate S. Rajlingam, Additional Police Commissioner S. Chinnappa and other officials and public representatives.
