Common Tests in Central Universities for UG and PG Courses, informs MoS in Lok Sabha

New Delhi, April 04: In pursuance of the National Policy on Education, 2020, it has been decided to conduct Common Entrance Test for admission to Central Universities from the academic year 2022-23 to reduce the burden on students, universities and the entire education system.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Education, Dr Subhash Sarkar in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.

He said that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) evaluates the students of different boards at the same level giving equal opportunities to the students. Students can apply to more than one university of their choice with a single application form, thereby reducing the financial burden and increasing access.

They have to appear in examinations in 13 languages ​​at hundreds of examination centers for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The syllabus is based on the understanding of the subject of class 12th. CUET deals with undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs only.
