Mumbai/New Delhi,11 August: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman called for a concerted global effort led by rich countries to help debt-ridden countries in such times.
Sitharaman said this while addressing an online session of the G-20 organized by the Ministry of Finance and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday.
He said that we have never seen such huge challenges in recent years. The Finance Minister said that India has ensured that geopolitical differences do not affect international cooperation. This is the main concept of the G-20 group and the summit.
Calling for concerted efforts to ensure a better future, the Finance Minister said that the agenda of the G-20 is to create a better tomorrow for all.
He said that continuous efforts are necessary to find solutions to the problems arising out of the challenges of multilateralism. The G-20 has formed an expert group to find a permanent solution to the debt problem of poor countries.
