Congress stands with the victims of Hathras stampede incident: Rahul Gandhi

Hathras, 05 July: Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha and MP Rahul Gandhi met the affected families of Hathras stampede incident on Friday. Rahul Gandhi met them and shared their pain and assured them of standing with them. He held the administration responsible for this incident and assured to raise this matter in Parliament.

Rahul Gandhi met the families of the injured and the dead in the stampede during a satsang at Green Park located at Agra Road Vibhav Nagar Nabipur Khurd. Rahul met the families of Asha Devi, Munni Devi and Omvati and took information about the entire incident.

While talking to journalists after meeting the victims, Rahul Gandhi said that there was a lack of administration in the Hathras stampede incident. Mistakes have been made, they should be found out. Financial help should be given as much as possible. These were poor families. I request the UP CM to give financial help wholeheartedly. After meeting the victim families, Rahul Gandhi left for Delhi.

Earlier, Rahul Gandhi reached Pilkhana village of Akrabad in Aligarh district by road from Delhi. Where Rahul Gandhi met the families of those killed in the stampede during the Hathras satsang. Among them, he met Manju wife Chhotelal, Pankaj son Chhotelal, Premvati and Shanti Devi wife Vijay Singh and met the victim families and shared their grief.

During this, Congress state president Ajay Rai, MP Imran Masood along with local party officials and many senior leaders were present.

It is noteworthy that 121 people died in the stampede after the satsang of Suraj Pal alias Bhole Baba at Fullerai Mughal Garhi in Sikandrarao, Hathras on Tuesday. After the incident, three ministers of the government were the first to reach for relief work. The very next day,

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath came to Hathras to inquire about the condition of the injured and also visited the spot. After the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, National Women’s Commission Chairperson Rekha Sharma, BSP state president Vishwanath Arya, UP government minister Dharmveer Prajapati and Samajwadi Party delegation also met the victim families.
