Ayodhya, 7 August: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday unveiled the statue of Brahmalin Paramhans Ramchandra Das, former president of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas, on his 21st death anniversary at the Digambar Akhara premises in Ayodhya.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the construction of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple is not the destination but a stopover. It has to be continued further. The strength of Sanatan Dharma gives new momentum to these campaigns.
The Chief Minister said that today we are all seeing the picture of the world. India’s neighborhood is burning, temples are being demolished. Hindus are being targeted selectively. Even then we are not trying to find the facts of history as to why such an unfortunate situation has arisen there. The society which does not learn from the mistakes of history, its bright future is also eclipsed. There is a need to work together and fight against the crisis coming upon Sanatan Dharma.
Adityanath said that the entire life of Brahmalin Paramhans Ramchandra Das, a devotee of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram, was dedicated to Ram Janmabhoomi. He made this movement a mission of his life. When the resolution of the saints rose together in one voice, the way for the construction of the temple in Ayodhya was paved. It is my good fortune that even after 21 years, I have got the privilege of installing his statue.
He said that Gorakshapeeth and Digambar Akhara used to work as complements to each other since the 1940s. When Ramchandra Das Maharaj came to Ayodhya Dham in his childhood, he had an attachment with Gorakshapeeth since then. The Ram Janmabhoomi movement progressed under the guidance of the then Gorakshapeethadhiswar Mahant Digvijaynath. With the manifestation of Ram Lalla in the year 1949, the Gorakshapeeth and revered saint Paramhans Ramchandra Das Ji Maharaj together took up the task of going to court against the then government’s attempt to remove the statue and from there taking this fight to the streets. As a result of this, the penance of revered saints bore fruit and the wait of 500 years ended. Ram Lalla was enthroned in Ayodhya. In the country and the world, Ayodhyadham is once again reminding people of Treta Yuga. The pride of the saints here increased and Ayodhya got a new identity.
Chief Minister Yogi said that people used to say about the Ramjanmabhoomi that if the decision was in favor of Ram temple, then rivers of blood would flow on the roads. The saints tried their best to find a solution to the problem through talks, but when the ways of talks ended and the government’s stubbornness started coming in the way, the revered saints chose the path of struggle in a democratic way. After this, the movement moved forward strongly in the country. When the matter went to the court, the way to solve the problem was found after the formation of the double engine government of BJP.
He said that Paramhans Ramchandra Das Ji Maharaj was like my revered Guru. While going from Gorakhpur to Ayodhya, Lucknow and Prayagraj, Guru Ji used to ask me whether I had visited Digambar Akhara in Ayodhya and enquired about Paramhans Ji’s health. If I forgot, he would scold me. He used to say that he is my Guru Bhai. Whenever I used to go on this route, I knew that my Gurudev would ask how is Paramhans Ji’s health, I did not have an answer, so I used to first go to him and enquire about his health. He used to sit at his door and talk to people with fun. People could not understand that this saint is divine, grand, miraculous and a leader. He lived his life for the goals, values โโand tradition of Sanatan Dharma. He used to say that Ramlala’s temple should be built in Ayodhya, this is the last resolution of my life.
Adityanath said that we have to establish such a society free from casteism and untouchability, for which Lord Shri Ram had dedicated his life. Traveller rest houses are being built in Ayodhya in the name of Nishad Raj. An international airport has been built in the name of Maharishi Valmiki in Ayodhya Dham, the birthplace of Shri Ram. The kitchen of the bhandaara set up for the passengers is named after Mata Shabari. Lord Shri Ram had united everyone and we too have to follow those paths through the values โโand ideals of Lord Ram. To become a devotee of Lord Ram, we should also get inspiration from his ideals.
The Chief Minister also planted a sapling in the campus after the worship. After this, he also took prasad in the “Bhandaara’ (community kitchen) along with the saints. Mahant Suresh Das of Digambar Akhara, successor Mahant Ram Lakhan Das, Jagadguru Ramanujacharya Swami Vasudevacharya Maharaj, Jagadguru Raghavacharya Maharaj, Hanuman Garhi Mahant Dharmadas Maharaj, Katha Vyas Vijay Kaushal Maharaj, Agriculture Minister and In-charge Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Mayor Mahant Girish Pati Tripathi, MLA Ved Prakash Gupta, MLA Dr. Amit Singh Chauhan, MLA Ramchandra Yadav etc. were present in the program.
