Lucknow, 27 January: Samajwadi Party leader and MLC Swami Prasad Maurya is in the limelight due to his statements these days. After making a controversial statement on Ramcharitmanas, he has given another statement on the saints, mahants, dharmacharyas and caste-specific people and called these saints and religious leaders as terrorists and devils on Friday.
The SP leader wrote on his Twitter handle that on the statement given by me recently, the contractors of some religions have declared reward to those who cut my tongue and behead. If someone else says the same thing, then this contractor calls him a terrorist. But now what to call these saints, Mahants, Dharmacharyas and caste specific people ? terrorists, super devils or executioners.
After SP leader Swami Prasad Maurya made a controversial statement on Ramcharitmanas, protests were held against him at many places and his and SP leaders effigies were also burnt.
Amid these protests, a leader of the All India Hindu Mahasabha had announced a reward of Rs 51,000 to the person who ‘cut off’ his tongue. While a BJP leader had announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh to the person who cut Maurya’s tongue. T
Maurya indirectly attacked Dhirendra Shastri last day by tweeting, “Till now Shudra was a part of the caste system and now according to Shastri of Hanuman Dham, the one who loses balance is a Shudra. Thank you for the knowledge, it means accept that the saints, Mahants, Dharmacharyas and special castes who have lost their balance like madmen and said nonsense on my statement are all Shudras and lowly.”
It may be noted that former minister and SP leader Maurya had said that I have objection to some parts of Ramcharitmanas. SP leader said, Dalits and women have been insulted in Ramcharitmanas. There are some such parts in Tulsidas’s Ramayana, on which we have objection. There is no right to abuse anyone in any religion. There is a chaupai in Tulsidas’s Ramayana. In this he is giving the certificate of being of low caste to the Shudras. A particular caste has been insulted in the name of religion. Tulsidas wrote the book for his own pleasure. Crores of people do not read it. Describing this book as nonsense, he said that the government should ban it.
Maurya also gave a shocking statement on the Central Government awarding Padma Vibhushan posthumously to Mulayam Singh Yadav. The SP MLC had said, “Government of India, by awarding Padma Vibhushan posthumously to Netaji Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav, has ridiculed Netaji’s personality, work and contribution towards the nation. If Netaji had to be honoured then Bharat Ratna Should have been treated with respect.”
