New Delhi, 13 February: More than 84 thousand 807 beneficiaries were vaccinated against coronavirus on Saturday in the country. With this, a total of 80.52 lakh beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the country so far.
Meanwhile, vaccination was carried out in 10 states and union territories on Saturday. 2,627 people were vaccinated in Delhi.
Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health told that no one has died due to vaccination.
He said that so far more than 70 per cent health workers have been vaccinated in 12 states and union territories. These include Lakshadweep, Bihar, Tripura, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Along with this, the states and union territories vaccinating less than 40 percent of health workers are Meghalaya, Manipur, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Chandigarh, Nagaland and Puducherry.
He said that the Union Health Ministry held a meeting with all the states and union territories on Saturday. The vaccination program was reviewed in this meeting. The meeting directed all the states to complete the vaccination deadline of health workers and frontline workers on time. Along with this, states have been asked to ensure the use of the vaccine.
However, February 20 deadline has been set for health workers as part of the immunization program. In this program, health workers who are left out for any reason can be vaccinated till February 25. Simultaneously, a March deadline has been set for vaccination for frontline workers. With this, the limit has been fixed till March 6 for those who will be missed from the vaccination program till this date.
