Country has rejected those who tried to control Parliament through hooliganism: Modi

New Delhi, November 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday that the winter session of Parliament will be very productive and hoped that it will boost India’s global position.

Addressing the media outside Parliament before the winter session, Prime Minister Modi said that the use of Parliament’s time and our behavior in the House should be such that the respect India has received at the global level is further strengthened.

Taking a dig at the opposition, the Prime Minister said that those who have been continuously rejected by the public 80-90 times, neither allow discussions to take place in Parliament, nor do they respect the spirit of democracy, nor do they understand the importance of people’s aspirations. As a result, the public has to reject them again and again.

He said that the condition of democracy is that we respect the sentiments of the public and work hard day and night to live up to their hopes and expectations.

Prime Minister said that he has been repeatedly requesting especially the colleagues of the opposition and some of the opposition also behave very responsibly. They also wish that the work in the House should be done smoothly but those who have been continuously rejected by the people, used to suppress the words of their colleagues, also disrespected their sentiments, disrespected the sentiments of democracy.

Regarding the importance of this session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that this is the last period of 2024 and the country is also engaged in preparations to welcome 2025 with full enthusiasm and zeal. This session of Parliament is special in many ways and the most important thing is the entry into the 75th year of the Constitution. He said that tomorrow (26 November) in the Constitution House, everyone together will start the celebration of the 75th year of this Constitution.

Underlining the importance of new Parliament members, the Prime Minister said that our new colleagues have new ideas. They have new imaginations to take India forward. He said that the message should also go out from the Parliament of India that the voters of India, their dedication towards democracy, their dedication towards the Constitution, their faith in the parliamentary working system, all of us sitting in the Parliament will have to live up to these sentiments of the people.
