There will be an intensive investigation into the disappearance of body: Mayor
Mumbai, June 09: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state vice-president and former MP Kirit Somaiya has made a sensational allegation of allegedly ‘missing’ of the bodies of six people who died of coronavirus disease in the last few days from various hospitals in Mumbai.
Soumaiya has written a letter to Health Minister Rajesh Tope and Home Minister Anil Deshmukh demanding a probe into the matter.
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Kishori Pednekar said that the incident of disappearing dead body will be intensively investigated. Anyone found guilty in this investigation will be punished severely.
Kirit Soumaiya told reporters on Tuesday that a person named Sudhakar Khade had died of Covid-19 from KEM Hospital and his body went missing.
Similarly, Vitthal More’s body has also gone missing from Shatabdi Hospital in Kandivali. However, his body was found outside Borivali station on Tuesday.
In the same way, bodies of Mehraj Sheikh from Rajwadi Hospital, Ghatkopar, Madhukar Pawar from Nair Hospital, Rakesh Sharma from Jogeshwari Trauma Hospital and Gyanidevi Vishwakarma’s body from Sion Hospital have also gone missing.
Kirit Somaiya alleged that the government is playing with the lives of infected patients in Mumbai and now the body of those who died of Covid-19 are also disappearing.
However, Somaiya has demanded a thorough investigation into the matter.
