Guwahati, June 07: The spike in the coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in the northeastern states of the country has been quite late. However, their numbers might not big as of now but the surge in the cases could lead to possibility of community transmission because now the country is opened up and migrants are also arriving to their hometowns.
Initially, the number of patients in the northeastern states was very low and it was believed that the hilly states of the country had survived this pandemic but now it seems that the states of the Northeast are also affected in the same way as other states of the country.
As the arrival of migrant workers from other states started in the northeastern states, the number of corona infected cases has also witnessed a spike.
Though, the maximum number of cases has been reported in Assam. The state of Tripura is at number two.
During the last 24 hours, 331 new patients have been identified in the hilly states.
In this way, the total number of patients has reached to 3599, out of which 875 patients have been cured and sent back to their respective homes.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 139 patients have been completely recovered from the disease, while 2707 patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals.
At the same time, five patients have died of Covid-19 and three infected persons have gone out of the northeastern states.
: So far, 230 new patients have been identified in Assam, thus the total number of patients in the state is 2474, while 627 patients have become healthy.
Meanwhile, 117 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours.
At the same time, 1840 patients are being treated in various hospitals. Meanwhile, 04 patients have died and 03 have gone out of the state.
: Similarly, 55 new patients have been identified in Tripura. The total number of patients has increased to 749. However, 173 patients have recovered. At the same time, 567 patients are being treated.
: So far, 25 new patients have been identified in Manipur. The total number of patients in the state has increased to 157, while 52 patients have become healthy, 14 patients have been healthy during the last 24 hours. However, 105 patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals.
: 13 new patients have been identified in Nagaland. The total number of patients has reached to 107. In the last 24 hours, 08 patients have been treated in the state. So far, 99 patients are being treated in various hospitals.
: As many as 02 new corona patients have been identified in Arunachal Pradesh. The total number of patients has been reduced to 48. At the same time, 01 patient has become healthy. 47 patients are being treated in various hospitals.
: However, in Meghalaya no new cases have appeared in the last 24 hours. The total number of corona infects in the state is 33. Out of which 13 patients have become healthy. In which 19 patients are under treatment. However, 01 patient has died.
: In Mizoram, 02 new patients have been identified. The number of corona-infected patients has increased to 24 in the state. However, 01 patient has been recovered. At the same time, 23 patients are being treated in the hospital.
: Four new infected patients have been identified in Sikkim. The total number of infected patients in the state has touched to 07. However, 07 patients are being treated in the hospital.
