New Delhi, June 02: The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has approved the emergency use of the Remdesivir drug on patients infected with coronavirus.
In a meeting held on Monday in the Ministry of Health, the distributor of this drug, Gilead Sciences, has been approved to market.
Gilead Sciences, the distributor of this drug, claimed that corona patients are recovering from the use of the drug Remdesivir.
However, the effect of this drug was discussed by the CDSCO in a committee of experts. After this it was decided that this drug can be used as a trial and in people with severe illness.
Gilead Sciences said in a statement a few days ago that they had agreements with domestic pharmaceutical company Cipla, Jubilant Life Science and Hetero. All three companies had sought permission from CDSCO to manufacture Remdesivir which has been approved.
