Jaunpur, 8 Dec: There was an encounter with a cow smuggler late Thursday night with the joint police team of Singramau, Khutahan, Sujanganj and Maharajganj. Cow smuggler was arrested in the encounter.
Giving information in this matter on Friday, Additional Superintendent of Police Rural Shailendra Kumar Singh said that on the basis of information, police of four police stations surrounded the cow smuggler at Sirkina bridge of Khutahan police station area. Seeing the police, he opened fire, in which cattle smuggler got injured due to the bullet fired by the police. Police arrested cow smuggler Sahabuddin after the encounter.
Singh said, a pistol, 315 bore shell and cartridges and a bike have been recovered from him. The injured have been admitted from Badlapur CHC to Jaunpur District Hospital for first aid. A total of 15 cases are registered against the arrested criminal in different police station areas of the district.
