Raigad District Magistrate (DM) Nidhi Chaudhary said that two NDRF teams have reached here and two more teams are going to arrive very soon.

“Necessary preparations are being made in the district to save people from storms. Orders have been issued not to leave the house tomorrow and fishermen not to go to sea on June 3 under any circumstances,” DM added.

A similar order has been issued in Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Mumbai, Mumbai suburbs, Thane and Palghar districts.

DM Palghar Kailash Shinde has also issued a directive to people in the Kinarag area to be alert of the nature fury.

That is why the fishermen who went to sea at Palghar seashore have started returning to shore. In Mumbai city and suburb, people living in slums near the sea shore are being removed and fishermen have been informed that they do not go to sea.
