Ayodhya, 17 Oct: At least 24 lakh earthen lamps will be lighted at Ram Ki Paidi on the banks of the Saryu to commemorate Deepotsav in Ayodhya on November 11.
Ayodhya will host a spectacular event called Deepotsav, during which 24 lakh earthen lamps will be kindled at Ram Ki Paidi on November 11.
Deepotsav this year will also mark the start of a daily light and sound extravaganza at Ram Ki Paidi, which will last for the next five years. The performance, which would cost around Rs 20 crore, will have two shows every day following the Saryu aarti, presenting Ramayan-based films. A significant number of visitors are anticipated to attend the event.
This year’s Deepotsav will also mark the start of Ram Ki Paidi’s daily light and sound spectacle, which will run for the next five years.
Authorities stated that two concerts would be held every day, and the tourist department’s proposal was approved by the government.
“The project of light and sound show has been given to Uttar Pradesh Project Corporation Limited, a government agency,” said Nitish Kumar, the district magistrate of Ayodhya.
“Two steel columns, the same height as the German hangar, will be built. In between will be a curtain 30 feet wide and 200 feet long. At a cost of almost Rs 20 crore, light and sound displays are being installed at Ram Ki Paidi. The agency would stage two shows everyday on the lines of Surya Kund under the plan. After Saryu aarti, Ramayan-based movies will be shown,” Kumar explained.
“The light and sound show will take place for two hours in the evening and will be free of charge. It will last five years,” he remarked.
