Patna, August 01: The issue of handing over the investigation of the Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case to the CBI is getting aggravated. After Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, now Director General of Police (DGP) of Bihar Gupteshwar Pandey has also given his statement on this issue by saying that we do not demand a CBI inquiry as Bihar Police is capable of investigating the matter.
Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey told reporters on Saturday that if Sushant Singh Rajput’s father wants, he could demand a CBI probe into his son’s suicide case. We are not seeking a CBI inquiry, as the Bihar Police is fully capable of investigating this suicide case.
“The team of Bihar Police has gone to Mumbai to investigate this suicide case after Sushant’s father KK Singh lodged an FIR at Patna’s Rajiv Nagar police station,” added Pandey.
Bihar DGP said that our team is in Mumbai and our Patna SSP is in constant touch with their counterpart in Mumbai. On Friday, our team met DCP Crime and assured that he will cooperate in the investigation. They too are awaiting the decision of the Supreme Court in Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case. Then they will provide us all the documents.
Hearing in Supreme Court on August 5
Sushant’s girlfriend Riya Chakraborty has been accused in an FIR lodged in Patna by Sushant’s father. Riya has filed a petition in the Supreme Court to transfer the case filed in Patna to Mumbai. The case will be heard in the top court on August 5.
However, the Bihar police will oppose Riya’s petition in the court and for this a caveat has also been filed by the Bihar government.
At the same time, the Maharashtra government also filed a caveat on Friday to present its case in this case.
According to Bihar DGP, both sides are awaiting a decision in this matter.
