Mirzapur, March 01: A woman committed suicide by hanging herself on Saturday, in Rampur village of Kachhwa police station area after being fed up with her husband’s alcohol addiction. Satish Kumar, a resident of Rampur village, was addicted to alcohol. He often used to quarrel after coming home drunk.
On Friday night, Satish Kumar came home drunk. Seeing his wife Savita talking to someone over the phone, he got angry and snatched the phone and broke it. He started abusing her. There was a dispute between the two over this matter. After this, Satish left the house.
According to the police, at the same time, Savita sent her four children to her mother-in-law Manti Devi and locked her room inside. When the mother-in-law woke up late at night and knocked on the door and did not get any response from inside the room, she peeped through the window. She was shocked to see the body of her daughter-in-law hanging from the noose inside. When the old woman made noise, the neighbors gathered and the police was immediately informed.
As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and broke the door and brought down the body from the noose. After completing the necessary legal procedures, the body was sent for post-mortem.
Police station in-charge Kachwan Ranvijay Singh said that investigation in the case revealed that Savita was originally a resident of Mahuari Khurd, Vindhyachal. She was earlier married somewhere else. Later, while working at a brick kiln, she fell in love with Satish Kumar. Both of them got married. The couple has four children, two girls and two boys.
