New Delhi, 16 January: The Congress party has announced to provide LPG cylinder for βΉ500, one free ration kit and 300 units of free electricity to every family every month if it forms the government in Delhi.
Delhi Pradesh Congress President Devendra Yadav announced several election promises in a press conference held at the state Congress headquarters here on Thursday.
Giving the example of Telangana, Devendra Yadav said that the promises made by Congress to the people in the assembly elections were fulfilled by the government there in 13 months. That is why Revanth Reddy has come here to tell his point to the voters of Delhi. Discussing the one-month long Congress Nyay Yatra in Delhi, Devendra Yadav said that during this journey he addressed the people from every corner of Delhi.
To fulfill the issues raised by the public, Congress has so far announced guarantees like Pyari Didi and Jeevan Raksha Yojana and organizing Chhath festival on the lines of Maha Kumbh for Purvanchalis.
Devendra said ,”we are announcing the guarantee of cylinder, free ration kit and 300 units of free electricity. These guarantees of Congress will be implemented in the first cabinet meeting after the formation of the government.”
Congress State President Yadav said that as its fourth guarantee, Congress will give cylinder to every family for Rs 500 every month and along with that a free ration kit to every family. In this kit, 5 kg rice, 2 kg sugar, three liters of oil, 6 kg pulses and 250 grams of tea leaves will be given for free. In this era of inflation, women will have a lot of convenience in running their kitchen. He said that as the fifth big guarantee, every family will get 300 units of electricity free. This amount will be transferred directly to the consumer’s bank account. Instead of enriching the discoms like the AAP government, we will provide direct relief to the consumers.
Earlier in the press conference, former Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that the Congress fulfilled the election promises made in the Telangana Assembly elections within the first 13 months. He said that the issue of loan waiver of farmers was a big one in Telangana. Congress, while implementing its election promise, has waived off loans of Rs 21 thousand crores of farmers in the first year. 51 thousand people have been given jobs in one year. Women have been given free bus service. 50 lakh families are being given cooking cylinders for Rs 500 and 200 units of electricity free to each family. He claimed that whatever promises Congress makes, it also fulfills them after forming the government after the elections. The Telangana state government is an example of this.
He appealed to the people of Delhi to make the Congress win here, after forming the government, the election promises made to the people will be fulfilled here too. He discussed the all-round development of Delhi during the Chief Ministership of Sheila Dikshit. He praised Sheila government for implementing reformist process like privatization of electricity, roads, flyovers and metro rail in Delhi and improving water supply. He said that if rapid development is to be done in Delhi, then Congress party should be made to win.
