Delhi, 25 May: Delhi experienced a record high temperature of 41.7 degrees Celsius, as confirmed by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday. This is slightly above the usual for this season, and IMD has issued a ‘yellow’ alert for Saturday, with temperatures expected to reach a maximum of 44 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 31 degrees Celsius. However, there is no forecast for a heat wave.

Delhi’s minimum temperature on Friday was recorded at 30.8 degrees Celsius, four degrees higher than the seasonal norm, with relative humidity ranging from 42 percent to 60 percent throughout the day.

The Met office uses a color-coded warning system and has categorized Saturday’s alert as ‘yellow’, which means people should stay updated on the weather conditions. Clear skies and strong surface winds are expected during the day, with speeds of 25 to 35 kilometers per hour.

However, some remote areas may still experience warm nights. It is important for residents to take necessary precautions to beat the heat and stay hydrated during this time.
