New Delhi, 02 January: Delhi’s Rohini Court has sent the five accused in the Kanjhawala case to police custody for three days. The Delhi Police produced all the five accused in the court on Monday and demanded their custody.
The Delhi Police said that there is a need to interrogate the accused: Manoj Mittal, Deepak Khanna, Amit Khanna, Krishna and Mithun.
All five are accused of hitting a girl riding a scooty with their car. They then dragged her for several kilometres while the girl remained trapped with the car. The girl’s bones were shattered and not a single piece of cloth was left on her body. Her legs, head and other parts were badly crushed. The medical examination has confirmed the consumption of alcohol by the accused. The police registered a case of death by negligent driving against them.
The police later also added section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
