New Delhi, 6 September: Delhi Police has asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to start metro operations at 4 a.m. on September 8, 9, and 10 in view of the G-20 summit. In this regard, Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora has written a letter to DMRC.
Police Commissioner Arora has said that on September 8th, 9th, and 10th, Metro should be run from 4 a.m. for three days so that the policemen who go on duty with the common people do not face any kind of inconvenience.
He has said that due to traffic restrictions, there may be problems in New Delhi and South West Delhi during this period. That’s why it is necessary to do this so that the policemen can arrive on time and report on duty.
It has been clarified in the letter that more than 40,000 personnel of the Delhi Police have been deployed for the security and other duties of the G-20 summit. This policeman and other staff should reach the designated place on time, so the metro should be operational by 4 a.m.
