New Delhi, 29 October: According to the latest data from the Central Government’s System of Air Quality, Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR India), air pollution is increasing in the National Capital Region. The overall air quality in Delhi today (Sunday) was recorded in ‘very poor’ category with AQI of 309.
According to Safar India, the air quality in Noida is also in the ‘very poor’ category with an AQI of 372. The air quality in Gurugram is in ‘poor’ category with an AQI of 221. The overall air quality in the country’s financial capital Mumbai is in the ‘moderate’ category with an AQI of 139.
There was smog and haze in the sky this morning in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Gurugram. People taking morning walks were seen wearing masks to avoid polluted air.
In view of this, Delhi government has started ‘Red Light on Engine Off’ campaign from Thursday to curb vehicle pollution.
