Delhi-NCR people continue to face bad AQI woes

New Delhi, 25 November: The sorrow of the people of the national capital Delhi continues as there does not seem to be any improvement in the air quality at present. Due to pollution, Delhi’s air has reached ‘severe’ category.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the overall air quality index (AQI) has crossed 400 at many places in the capital today (Saturday) morning. 468 AQI has been recorded in Jahangirpuri, 466 in Bawana, 450 in Anand Vihar, 441 in Ashok Vihar, 439 in Dwarka Sector-8, 427 in Burari, 423 at IGI Airport, 388 at ITO and 383 in Aya Nagar.

Talking about the last 24 hours, on Friday morning AQI was recorded at 411 in Anand Vihar, 432 in Alipore, 443 in Wazirpur, 422 in RKpuram. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi’s AQI was 390 on Thursday.

According to the Air Quality Early Warning System of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, the wind speed is likely to generally remain below ten kilometers in the next two-three days. In such a situation, dispersion of pollutants is not possible.
