New Delhi, July 9: Delhi Police Crime Branch on Tuesday busted an international kidney transplant racket. The people of the organ transplant racket used to buy kidneys from a kidney donor for 4-5 lakhs and sell them to the receiver for 20 to 30 lakh rupees. The female doctor of this gang was charging 2 lakh rupees for each surgery.

According to the police, the hospital where these surgeries were being done is a big hospital in Noida. The donor and the receiver were kept in a flat in Jasola, Delhi. Many fake documents of Bangladesh High Commission have been recovered.

Police have arrested seven people of this racket. They have connections with Bangladesh. The mastermind of the racket is also from Bangladesh. The name of Vijaya Kumari, a senior doctor of a big private hospital, has also come up in this. She has also been arrested.

Apart from the doctor, three Bangladeshi nationals were arrested last month. In this case, fake documents were allegedly made in the name of Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi. It was claimed that there is a relationship between the organ donor and the organ recipient (both Bangladeshi).

It is worth noting that organ transplant can be done only through senior surgeons in big hospitals. This is a major surgery done under complete supervision. In this, an organ is removed from the body of one person and implanted in the body of another person.
