Delhi, 29 December: The Delhi Police has enlisted the aid of their Lucknow counterparts in locating a “cyclist cobbler” who played a crucial role in the recent Parliament security breach case involving accused Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D.

According to sources, the cobbler created cavities in the shoes of the two accused in order to fit smoke canisters, and the police now want to make him a witness in the case. Sagar had initially attempted to modify the shoes himself, but turned to the cobbler when he was unsuccessful.

The cobbler, who visited Alambagh in Lucknow on a bicycle, is now being sought after by police teams from Delhi who recently visited Lucknow to search for him. This breach in security occurred on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack, when Sagar and Manoranjan entered the Lok Sabha chamber, released yellow smoke and shouted slogans before being subdued by MPs.

It was later revealed during interrogation that Sagar had tried to create cavities in his shoes after realizing they were not checked during entry into Parliament.

The cobbler, who allegedly received Rs 595 for modifying two pairs of shoes, has not yet been found despite police efforts and questioning of other cobblers in Alambagh.

The FIR states that the inside sole of one shoe was cut and additional rubber was affixed to support the cavity, while the inside sole of the other shoe was partially cut.

This search for the elusive cobbler continues as authorities try to unravel this intricate security breach.
