New Delhi, March 6: The Delhi Police has come into action mode after Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s instructions to take strict action against the entire network helping Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators.
Delhi Police on Thursday launched a verification campaign to recognize illegal Bangladeshi immigrants living in Sangam Vihar and Mandir Marg police station areas.
A woman who reached one such verification center in Sangam Vihar area said that she is from Kolkata and has been living in Delhi for the last one year. The woman told that the police asked her when she came here. To investigate this, her Aadhar card was checked.
Apart from this, Delhi Police is engaged in arresting Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators involved in criminal activities using its information system.
It is worth mentioning that after the formation of the BJP government in Delhi, on February 28, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a high-level meeting on the current law and order situation and coordination in Delhi in the presence of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. In this meeting, Shah had directed the Delhi Police and the Chief Secretary of the Delhi Government to take strict action against the entire network helping Bangladeshi and Rohingya intruders.
The Home Minister had directed that strict action should be taken against all those involved in the entire network from the entry of Bangladeshi and Rohingya intruders into India to getting their documents made and helping them to stay here. The matter of illegal intruders is also related to national security and it should be dealt with with full strictness and they should be identified and deported.
Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Delhi Home Minister Ashish Sood, Delhi Chief Secretary, Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, Director of Intelligence Bureau and many senior officials of the Union Home Ministry, Delhi Government and Delhi Police were present in the meeting.
