DGP UP Prashant Kumar presents memento police flag badge to Governor, CM Yogi

Lucknow, 23 November: On the occasion of 73rd Police Flag Day of Uttar Pradesh Police, Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar presented police flag badge Governor Anandiben Patel and CM Yogi. Police flag symbol was presented.

The Governor has congratulated all the police personnel of Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of Police Flag Day.

On the occasion of Police Flag Day, ‘Police Flag Day’ was organized in the premises of Police Headquarters, Lucknow. The police flag was brought near the flag pole with respect. DGP and other police officers and employees saluted the police flag. The tune ‘Saare Jahan Se Achcha’ was played by the band.

On this occasion, Director General of Police Rules and Manual, Director General of Police Training, Additional Director General of Police Law and Order, Additional Director General of Police and GSO of Director General of Police, along with other senior officers and employees were present.

In his address, the DGP said that today we all have gathered on the glorious occasion of the 73rd Flag Day of Uttar Pradesh Police. On this day we remember the dignity of our flag and our responsibilities towards it. We all are aware that on 23 November 1952, the then Prime Minister had awarded the Police Flag to the Uttar Pradesh Police for its excellent performance in all areas of police work.

Uttar Pradesh, which received this honor, is the first ‘State Police Force’ of the country, which was awarded the ‘Police Color’ i.e. Police Flag as a result of its unmatched contribution. This flag is not just a symbol, but a living document of our loyalty, dedication and sacrifice. It is an immortal heritage of our valorous stories. It inspires us to remain alert and dedicated towards our duties every moment.

He said that history is witness that the victory of Dharma over Adharma has been unforgettable due to the inspiration of the flag. 23 November is a glorious, historical and very important day for Uttar Pradesh Police. The red and blue flag, a symbol of strength and loyalty, has given a proud identity to Uttar Pradesh Police.

After countless stories of public service, devotion to duty, valor and self-sacrifice of our brave colleagues loyal to the police department, the path of this glorious achievement of obtaining the police flag could be paved. While hoisting the police flag and showing respect towards it, we feel a sense of self-respect and a new energy of devotion to duty is transmitted in all of us, which inspires us to perform our duties with new zeal and enthusiasm.

The history of Uttar Pradesh Police Force has been golden and glorious. Uttar Pradesh Police Force is the largest police organization in the world under a single command. On this occasion, while extending my heartfelt best wishes to all of you once again, I expect that all of you will maintain the respect of the dignified achievement of this glorious past. Through our dedication and professional efficiency, we will continue to set such exemplary examples so that new dimensions continue to be established in the golden history of Uttar Pradesh Police.
