Dhami govt shuts down 110 Madrasas

Dehradun, March 21: Dhami government’s action against illegal madrasas in Uttarakhand continues. So far 110 madrasas have been sealed across the state. On Thursday, 16 illegal madrasas were sealed in Udham Singh Nagar district and two in Haridwar.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s message is loud and clear that any kind of tampering with the basic form of the state will not be tolerated. Strict action will be taken against anyone who is involved in illegal activities under the guise of religion.

For the last one month, the Uttarakhand administration has been taking action against illegal madrasas. These madrasas were being run without the permission of the government. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken a tough stand on this. Its widespread effect is also being seen. A massive campaign is being run against illegal madrasas across the state.

The administration has also started an investigation into who is behind these illegal madrasas being run on such a large scale and what kind of education was being imparted to the students here.

On Thursday, 4 madrasas in Rudrapur, 8 in Kichha, 3 in Bajpur, 1 in Jaspur and 2 in Haridwar have been sealed. Earlier, 92 madrasas have been sealed in Dehradun and Pauri while taking action against illegal madrasas on a large scale.
