Hyderabad (Telangana), 06 December: There is a festive atmosphere in the city after the four accused were killed in the case of brutally raping and killing the Veterinary Doctor Disha. The relatives of Disha also distributed sweets and expressed happiness over the encounter of all accused. In both Telugu states, people celebrated in many places by not only bursting crackers but also by distributing sweets among each other.
On Friday, however, news of all four accused, involved in the raping and killing a lady doctor, were killed by policemen while they were trying to escape from the police custody has spread like a fire in the jungle, hundreds of people reached the spot and expressed satisfaction over the police action. Meanwhile, some people were seen showering flowers upon the police involved in this action and shouted slogans of ‘Police Jindabad’.
After the killing of the four accused in the police action, the relatives of the victim distributed sweets and expressed satisfaction over the action by the police. Disha’s mother and father have said that Disha got justice from this action. Her entire family is fully engaged in the work of Dashadinakarama (tenth day) of Disha. In such a situation, it was nice to receive the news of the killing of the accused on this day. Her family feels that this action will bring peace to the soul of Disha.
Apart from Hyderabad, people celebrated in many small and big cities by beating drums and bursting firecrackers. Thousands of people cheered for police and on the other hand, people present near the spot have applauded for Cyberabad Police Commissioner Sajjanar resulting in the road was jammed as a large crowd gathered around the scene.
Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao popularly known as KTR, son of Telangana’s Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has reacted by saying that people now wanted immediate justice against the culprits. People wanted the culprits to be punished immediately.
Police commissioner Sajjanar has been in news before too
IPS officer Sajjanar was also news in 2008 when Police had similarly killed three accused in an acid attack on a girl in Warangal then V.C. Sajjanar was serving as the Superintendent of Police( SP) in Warangal district. VC Sajjanar, Commissioner of Cyberabad Police, is a 1996 batch Indian Police Services( IPS) officer. Apart from this, Sajjanar’s name was mentioned several times in the encounters with the Maoists.
