Lucknow, 26 October: The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has informed that luxury AC buses Volvo and Scania will not be operating during Deepawali festival from Lucknow.
However, an action plan for operation of Diwali special buses from all the four bus stands in Lucknow has been prepared.
At present, 10 major routes have been identified for the operation of buses from the capital. Preparations are underway to operate buses on these routes from October 31.
Thus, an outline has been prepared for the operation of 262 roadways buses from Kaiserbagh, Alambagh, Charbagh and Avadh bus stand in the capital Lucknow, these include AC Janrath, pink, sleeper and ordinary buses. This time luxury Volvo, Scania buses will not be operated.
Even before Diwali, preparations are underway to operate roadways buses on 10 major routes from Lucknow from October 31.
In this, UPSRTC buses will be running from Lucknow to Gorakhpur, Delhi, Bahraich, Gonda, Balrampur, Kanpur, Azamgarh, Dehradun, Haridwar and Varanasi routes.
For the convenience of the passengers, online ticket booking has been arranged in these buses. The Corporation has also prepared about 74 AC buses as an alternative.
During the festival of Diwali, there is maximum pressure of passengers on the Lucknow-Delhi route. Earlier it was decided to run 32 buses on this route, but now 51 buses will be operated so that passengers do not face problems.
Pallav Bose, Regional Manager UPSRTC apprised that an action plan has been prepared to operate buses on ten major routes from Lucknow on Diwali. Buses will also be increased according to the demand of passengers on all major routes. This time luxury Volvo and Scania buses will not be operated. Therefore, AC Janrath buses will be used as an alternative.
