Doctor and his daughter found infected with Zika virus in Pune, administration on toes

Mumbai, June 26: Two patients suffering from Zika virus have been found in Erandwane area of โ€‹โ€‹Kothrud in Pune district, which include a 43-year-old doctor and his 13-year-old daughter.

The Pune Municipal Corporation team is also conducting medical examination of the people who came in contact with these two. Along with this, the general public has been appealed to remain alert.

The doctor living in Kothrud area showed symptoms of red rashes along with fever. Due to this, his blood sample was sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) for testing on June 18.

On June 20, his blood samples were reported to be infected with Zika virus. After this, mild symptoms of Zika virus were also seen in the doctor’s daughter. Her blood samples were also sent to the National Institute of Virology for testing. After the report, she was also found infected with Zika. Other people who came in contact with him have not yet shown symptoms of infection, but the health department is keeping a close watch on them.
