New Delhi, 29 August: The central government has decided to cut the price of gas cylinders for domestic use by Rs 200. The decision was approved by the Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today.
Giving information about the decisions of the cabinet, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that the Modi government has given a big gift to the sisters on Onam and Raksha Bandhan. Despite the increase in the prices of gas at the international level, the government has not allowed the increase in the prices of gas in the country. Now their price has been reduced by Rs 200 per cylinder for all domestic consumers.
He said, “Gas cylinder has become cheaper once again, Modi government’s gift to sisters on Rakhi.”
He told that 33 crore consumers of the country will get benefit from this. This will put an additional burden of Rs 7,680 crore on the government during the financial year 2023-24.
Apart from this, Thakur told that under the Ujjwala scheme, the government will give free gas connections to 75 lakh sisters. The government has already given the benefit of Ujjwala Yojana to 9.60 crore sisters to get rid of smoke. For this, gas cylinder, stove, pipe and other material will be given to them free of cost without taking a single rupee.
It is noteworthy that the price of gas cylinder in Delhi is Rs.1103. Now
its price will come down to Rs.903.
