New Delhi, 25 October: The Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG )giant Unilever has recalled several aerosol dry shampoos, including its popular brands Dove and Nexus, from the US market. Actually, the company has done this after finding a dangerous chemical called benzene that causes cancer in those products.
According to media reports, according to a notice issued on Friday on the website of the US Department of Health and Human Services, these products of Unilever company were made before October 2021, and were also supplied to retailers around the world. Actually, these shampoos of Unilever company are sold under different brand names, including Dove, Nexus, Tresemme and Tiggy etc.
Usually dry shampoo is used to clean the hair without wetting it. These shampoos come in powder or spray form. According to the report of Cleveland Clinic, these starch or alcohol-based shampoos remove accumulated oil and grease from the hair, which makes the hair appear thicker. Although some dry shampoo contains an aerosol spray.
