Nana Patekar starrer ‘The Vaccine War’ is scheduled to release on September 28. This film is the true story of scientists researching on the vaccine during the Coronavirus.

In this, Nana has played the role of Dr Balram Bhargava, then DG of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the head of the team that made anti-Covid-19 vaccine Covaxin. Dr Balram Bhargava became emotional after seeing Nana Patekar in his character.

Nana Patekar has revealed that he has not met Balram Bhargava. Normally when you play a role, you try to understand it. If we have to play the role of a living person, we meet him, but I refused to meet Dr. Bhargava. I said there is very little time. After meeting a person, they will try to copy how they look, how they talk, how they walk, which can lead to confusion. So I told him that I will meet him after the completion of the film.

Nana Patekar told, β€œA few days ago a film show was organized for Dr. Balram Bhargava and all other scientists. Of these, 70 percent are women scientists. It is because of him that today we all can sit without wearing a mask.

After watching the film, Dr Bhargava came to me and said, how did you play my role so well? Because you never met me. I said that I did as my director told me. To this he said, yes, but how can it be so accurate. I gave credit to Vivek and said it was easy because he explained it.”
