ED raids Sahara India’s premises in connection with chit-fund scam in Lucknow

Lucknow, July 03: After the death of Subrata Roy, the clouds of crisis in the Sahara Group do not seem to be reducing. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has once again reached at Sahara India’s premises in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh.

On Wednesday morning, ED teams have reached several locations in the capital in connection with the chit fund scam.

According to the information, ED teams along with security personnel raided several locations of Sahara India in Lucknow, including its office in Kapurthala.

During this, the gate of the office premises was closed and ED officials were scrutinizing documents inside. The action of several ED teams simultaneously has created panic in the Sahara Group management.

An official of the ED team involved in the raid said that this action is related to the scam in the chit fund company of Kolkata. The strings of the chit fund company of Kolkata are connected to the Sahara Group. People’s hard earned money has been embezzled through fraud. Raids are being conducted to get solid evidence of this. Many more people are expected to come under the purview of this action.

Currently, documents are being scrutinized at Sahara Group’s locations. Raids are underway and ED teams have camped in Lucknow.
