New Delhi, January 12: At this time the whole of North India is shivering with cold. There is severe cold and fog in the national capital Delhi-NCR also.
There is no possibility of relief for the next five days. This assessment is from the India Meteorological Department.
In many states including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, fog along with severe cold is increasing the problems of the people. Due to dense fog on Friday, 23 trains coming to Delhi from different parts of the country were running late.
Also,visibility level in Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport area reduced to zero in the morning due to fog. However, the adverse conditions had no major impact on flight operations.
According to the India Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in the national capital Delhi was recorded at 5.4 degrees Celsius below normal on Friday.
According to the department, dense to very dense fog conditions are likely to persist for a few hours in the morning in some parts of Punjab and isolated areas of Haryana and Chandigarh between January 13 and 15.
Met department informed that Minimum temperatures are likely to drop by 2-3 degrees Celsius in many areas of central and eastern India in the next two days.
