Every patient suffering from dengue should get timely treatment: CM Yogi

Lucknow, 18 October: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the health department to provide timely treatment to dengue patients and to exercise caution.

The Chief Minister has also asked to arrange additional beds in hospitals for dengue patients as per requirement.

The Chief Minister held a high-level meeting at his official residence on Wednesday. In the meeting, the implementation of Ayushman Bharat scheme, the status of medical colleges under construction and the efforts being made for the prevention of dengue were reviewed.

The Chief Minister said that an increase in dengue cases has been seen in recent times. In the last few days, dengue outbreak has increased in Moradabad, Kanpur Nagar, Lucknow and Gautam Buddha Nagar. It should be ensured that hotspot situation does not arise anywhere.

Arrangements for additional beds should be made in hospitals as per requirement. Be it village or city, not a single infected patient should suffer due to lack of treatment. There must be regular reporting of new patients in all government and private hospitals/medical colleges.

Yogi Adityanath directed that the Urban Development, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj departments should get fogging done for effective control of mosquitoes. Get sanitization done in the morning and fogging in the evening consistently. Get the water logging resolved.

The Chief Minister has said that Ayushman card of every family eligible for Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana must be made. In this regard, good work is being done in Uttar Pradesh under the current campaign. Till now 191.9 lakh families are covered under these schemes and are benefiting from the free health insurance facility of Rs 5 lakh annually. Awareness about the scheme should also be increased among the general public.

The state government has adopted the policy of PPP mode for setting up medical colleges in unserved districts. Under this, work has started in Shamli, Mau, Maharajganj and Sambhal.

Whereas for Baghpat, Mainpuri, Kasganj, Mahoba, Hamirpur and Hathras, approval has been received from the Government of India under Viability Gap Funding. Work should be started everywhere soon.

The Chief Minister directed to ensure proper deployment by providing appointment letters to 293 selected teachers and more than 1950 staff nurses in various medical colleges. Qualified doctors should be appointed to the vacant posts of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in government medical colleges as soon as possible.

Apart from this, the construction work of Bulandshahr, Lakhimpur Kheri, Gonda, Auraiya, Lalitpur, Sonbhadra, Kanpur Dehat, Pilibhit, Bijnor, Chandauli, Kaushambi, Kushinagar, Sultanpur and Amethi Medical Colleges under construction under Phase-3 will be completed in a timely manner with complete quality.
