Ex MP Brij Bhushan Singh’s SUV collides with biker, 2 killed in Gonda

Gonda, 29 May: A luxury vehicle a part of the convoy of a BJP leader hit two youths riding a bike, killing the duo on the spot on Wednesday.

People took them to the Community Health Center where doctors declared both the youths dead. Before Huzurpur railway crossing in Colonelganj Kotwali area of Gonda district, the BJP leader was travelling with a convoy of several vehicles. The SUV included in the convoy went out of control and hit the biker coming from the front.

Two other pedestrians were also seriously injured. The injured have been admitted to the Community Health Center for treatment. After the accident, an angry mob surrounded the health center. During this time, all the people in the convoy fled away.

As soon as the information was received, heavy police force was deployed on the spot. Chanda Begum, a resident of village Nindura of Katra Bazar police station, has said in the complaint letter given to the police that on Wednesday at around 10 am, “my son Rehaan, 17 years, and nephew Javed, 24 years, were going to Colonelganj on their bike to take medicine”. Near Satai Purwa bus stand, a Fortuner vehicle coming from the opposite direction, its “driver driving carelessly, came to the right side and hit my nephew’s bike hard from the front.” Due to this, they fell on the spot and both of them died.

The victim’s father has demanded to file a report. Additional Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Rawat said that Colonelganj Police received information that a Fortuner vehicle had hit a bike rider near Huzurpur railway crossing.

Two persons named Rehan and Shahzad have been injured in this. Police immediately reached the spot and took the injured to the Community Health Center Colonelganj, where the doctors declared both of them dead.

The body has been sent for post-mortem after Panchnama. Their family members have given a complaint. The case is being registered. The Fortuner vehicle and its driver have been taken into custody. Other legal action is being taken. The vehicle in which the accident occurred is registered in the name of Nandini Nagar Institute, which belongs to former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Singh.
