Excise Department conducts impromptu inspection at liquor shops in Lucknow ย

Lucknow, 06 November: Surprise inspection of liquor shops was carried out by teams under the Excise Department in Lucknow. Sector 11 Inspector Rahul Singh of Excise Department, Sector 10 Inspector Akhil Gupta, Sector 3 Inspector Rajneesh Pratap Singh inspected foreign liquor and beer shops in their areas. In some other sectors also, Excise Inspectors checked MRP, shopkeepers’ behaviour, fake brand of liquor.

In Sector 11, Inspector Rahul searched the Desi, foreign and beer shops operating at Bijnor, Natkur, Gaurigaon, Transport Nagar and Labour Chauraha but did not find anything special. The inspector also checked the MRP on the bottles.

Excise Inspector Richa Singh conducted intensive inspection at the shops in Nishatganj and Mahanagar area in Sector 2. Sector 10 Excise Inspector Akhil Gupta conducted a surprise inspection of liquor shops in Para and Thakurganj.

District Excise Officer Rakesh Kumar Singh said that the Excise team in Sector 5 conducted a campaign against those drinking alcohol in public places at Gwari Chauraha Gomti Nagar. Secret purchases were also made to ensure that liquor is not being sold at higher prices at the shops.

He said that Sector 3 Excise Inspector Rajneesh Pratap Singh along with his team conducted intensive checking of trucks, tankers and other heavy vehicles passing through Purvanchal Expressway and the nearby dhabas. Under the special enforcement campaign, the prevention of illegal sale of liquor will continue in the future as well. Teams are continuously working to catch those who make and sell liquor secretly.
